Description

*This is a Pattern for the shorts, not a finished product. Upon purchase the pattern will be available for instant download*
This is a pattern and video tutorial for the CUTEST COMFIEST Baby Shorts from the Diamond Collection. This pattern is perfectly wonderful on it's own or to be purchased in addition to the other 3 patterns in this collection.
What makes this special??
* It's so comfy and stretchy for babies to waddle around in
* Elastic is used around the waist to keep the shorts from falling off while staying comfortable
* Great learning experience for learning how to make a shorts base with elastic
* Learn how to cable stitch crochet the diamond part of the shorts! Adding texture to crochet is just so much fun!
* Learn how to front post double crochet stitch if you don't already know or get some practice on it! (Not a common stitch)
*There's a VIDEO TUTORIAL... Need I say more??
*****I GUARANTEE CLARITY in my patterns!****
Nobody wants to spend money on unclear patterns. If any part of my patterns are confusing I will rewrite it...add to the video... and send the new version to everyone asap!
Included in this pattern:
*Written pattern in standard crochet language for each size
*Pictures of steps
*Open work symbol pattern for the diamond part
***VIDEO TUTORIAL*** 1 hour and 30 minutes
The private video link includes:
*How to do the shorts step by step
*How to insert the elastic
My patterns are probably the most comprehensive pattern you will find and I am determined to help you learn so if anything is unclear just message me and we will figure it out!
The following sizes are included:
0-3 Months - 16" Around Bottom
3-6 Months - 17"
6-9 Months - 18"
9-12 Months - 19"
12-18 Months - 20"
18-24 Months - 21"
**Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced (but don't forget I'm here to help so go for the challenge!)
If you are good at counting stitches and can see which stitches are on top of each other you should have no problem because that's the trickiest part involved in the diamond part.
Materials Needed:
4 Ply cotton yarn (3 ply if your baby overheats easily)
5.00 mm hook
3/4" elastic (20" should cover any size)
Scissors
Needle with a Large Eye

Crochet Letters and Numbers for appliqueing and decor

Crochet Letters!

Everyone has heard of crochet hats and booties and blankets but what if you want to monogram something?? Or make giant letter pillows! Or write your babies name on a crochet blanket?? Here are some great patterns for how to do different kinds of letters

2D Letters and Numbers

First let's look at stand alone 2 D letters, numbers, and punctuation.
This was posted byMoogly
This is one of the best comprehensive patterns I've found out there. Not only are there written patterns for the letters but she includes some video tutorials for the tricky letters!
For those of you that prefer reading symbol patterns than written patterns, these were posted byninenin sectikleri.I have tried these out and they look very nice especially for using them to applique or hand on a wall.

Here is another symbol pattern set byfiberneed

Embroidering/Crocheting on Letters

This post byCrochetnmoreshows how to do surface crochet or surface slip stitch which can be used to add letters and numbers to a crochet work. Keep in mind this only works for solid tight single crochet rows but can be very useful when you do solid shirts or sweaters!

3 D Letters

I found this free pattern for slightly 3D letters. The letters are just done twice and stuffed. Here is the link. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/alphabet-pillows
Here is a very nice pattern you can buy for making real fancy 3D letters. It's 2.50 euros per letter fromCarocreated.

There is also a book on amazon done bybigunkiwhich you can order which has patterns for all the letters.
Just for fun while we're talking about letters I found this really cool DIY tutorial about how to wrap letters with yarn by catchmyparty.com! Since we have so much yarn hanging around check it out it could be a great project for that scrap yarn left over.
Here is another done bylandofnod
Hope these come in use! Happy Crocheting
