As the deputy governor of the Tomsk region for industry and the fuel and energy complex L. Reznikov told the media, no later than 2014 the regional authorities are awaiting the start of the construction of the toll road Tomsk-Taiga. This will allow equipping a duplicate road leading to the Kuzbass and Transsib.
Tomsk is located at a distance from the Trans-Siberian Railway. The station closest to the regional center is “Taiga”, through it follows a large number of trains in both directions, it is located 160 kilometers from the city. Tomsk is connected by a single-track with a length of almost 80 kilometers. In addition, from the city to Transsib you can get to the Yurga station, if you move along the federal highway “Baikal” (M53). This route will also be used by some transport companies that provide transportation for companies that offer goods and services in Kazan, for example.
Reznikov during a press conference held at the RIA Novosti media center of Tomsk, said that negotiations are underway with a potential investor. The road will begin to build in 2014 and, according to calculations made by the investor, the construction will cost about one billion rubles.
Reznikov believes that since there are ready pieces of the highway, the construction time of the road should not exceed one and a half years. He stated that the road would be commercial.
This highway is of great importance for the agglomeration of two regions - Kemerovo and Tomsk.
