About two hundred historical buildings of the capital are in disrepair.
Currently, 173 capital buildings recognized as cultural heritage sites are in disrepair, said the head of the Duma commission on prospective development and urban planning, Mikhail Moskvin-Tarkhanov.
This is 6% of the total number of historic buildings. According to M. Moskvin-Tarkhanov, there are now 3,516 building monuments in the capital. Of these, three quarters are in a satisfactory condition, 19% require restoration and repair.
Currently, 59% of buildings-monuments are used for administrative and economic purposes, 15% - in religious buildings, 21% - as residential buildings ”.
In addition to the buildings, monuments, among the objects of cultural heritage of Moscow there are 332 buildings and 366 monuments with protected status, as well as 2121 parks, necropolises and archeology objects. And in total in the capital there are 6335 various monuments, most of which, almost 4.5 thousand, are located in the Central District.
The total area of cultural heritage sites is 12.2 thousand.hectares.
